I have a program that came with my burner called Nero Express. The program works great for burning cds, but then they are known as NeroMediaPlayer Media files. There is an option on the program to make an mp3 disc, but when I try to drag the files in to make the disc it says "no compatible file found". Does anyone know how I can make these into mp3 files in order to put them all on one cd? It's probably about 180 songs all together.

I may be wrong Dan - but i've found that mp4 files i've had to burn to cd & then re rip as mp3. Mind you theres bound to be some on on here who will offer more help than that. To convert most othewr files to mp3 i tend to use dbpoweramp - although without the powerpack (which costs) your limted to what files you can convert. Yet again there may be others here that know of other packages etc.

    Hope that helps

I've just had a browse around Nero Express and the Media Player that came with my rewriter. Confused the hell out of me! I knew there was a reason I never use it.

I don't think you can convert formats within Nero. As Ian said, it looks like you might need to rip the tracks in the correct format to begin with. You may be able to fit all the tracks on a disc in the current format, but you'd only be able to play the disc on a device that recognises MP4.

Another option could be to use a different media player. I know RealPlayer will recognise MP4 and burn MP3, whether it does the conversion I'm not sure. iTunes might be another option, but I'm not sure if it recognises MP4. I know it can handle AAC (another format Nero likes) and can burn MP3 discs.

All you need to do is change the serial number on your nero express to..... 1A25-0006-7130-1352-4239-7903 & it unlocks the full nero pack including a audio file encoder so you can change file types. Need any more help let me know in PM

    Question

Is there a converter for changing sizes of video files or converting between different types of file?

For all your audio needs, I recommend Adobe
Audition. Basically speaking, you can import any
format and 'save as.' anything you like. When
saving as mp3, the choices of quality are almost
endless. It will also allow you to extract music
from CDs and video files seemlessly, into .wav
format. It will also compile audio CDs. It's the
dog's bollox. The new version has even greater
    video capabilites. I've recorded/mixed/mastered
100s of songs with Audition; and used it to post-
produce the audio for 100s of films.
Check out a video demo of the new version here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html
(Highlights/See it in action) Requires Flash.

If your PC user, your video needs should be met
be Premiere Pro, of course. As well as being able
to export movies as standard DVAVI, Quicktime,
etc., there's is also an alt. menu allowing you
hundreds of ways to export movies for streaming/
vodcasting - MPEG2, WMA, QuickTime, RealPlayer,
    etc.
    Video preview here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/main.html
(Highlights/See it in action) Requires Flash.

Adobe would dearly love it if all your multimedia
was produced with just their products - so hence,
your DVD options would be handled by Encore -
but bollox to that, DVD Lab Pro is much better.

All products are a bit pricey, but X amount of
quid spent now on either of the above will save
you eons of time in the future snuffling around
the InterWeb looking for dodgy 2-bit conversation
programs which will barely be capable of doing
    more than 2 or 3 things half-well.

    --

Edit: If cash is an issue, try digging around either
your old PC mags, or the InterWeb, for a fully
functional version of Cool Edit Pro 2. Cool Edit
was bought by Adobe and renamed 'Audition'.
Audition 1/1.5 is more or less than same program.

There are alternatives to the Adobe machine,
of course. Sony have full roster of TV/Film/
Audio/DVD software. Vegas is a pretty decent
rival to PPro, if your workflow is reliant on
all your Adobe products chattting to each other.
